This is a Direct Hire Open Continuous Announcement (OCA) for a Nurse (Community Health) for the Indian Health Service within the Southwest Region. The Southwest Region provides health care and community health services through a network of health care facilities in the tri-state area of Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah. Arizona locations include the Colorado River Service Unit, which encompasses the Parker Indian Hospital (Parker, Arizona); the Peach Spring Clinic (Peach Springs, Arizona), the Hopi Health Care Center, (Polacca, Arizona) and the Supai Health Clinic (Havasupai, Arizona). California location is Fort Yuma Health Care Center (Winterhaven, California). Nevada location is Moapa Health Clinic (Moapa, Nevada). Utah location is Uintah & Ouray Service Unit (Fort Duchesne, Utah).

- Formulate and implement overall community health nursing programs and plans to satisfy varying patient load requirements, priorities for service and other healthcare objectives.
- Track community health status and evaluate health trends and risk factors of population groups.
- Investigate health problems and hazards such as communicable diseases and develop a recommended plan of action to address these issues.
- Provide health education to individuals, families and community groups in various settings.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
