    The National Science Foundation (NSF) is seeking a candidate for the position of Mathematical Statistician within the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES), Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE) Alexandria, VA. The position will support both NCSES core activities and NSF program evaluation activities. This includes the design, conduct, and analysis of rigorous program evaluations plus data collections, surveys, and special studies on the education and employment of scientists and engineers and U.S. competitiveness in science, engineering, technology, and research and development.     Responsibilities

    The responsibilities of the Mathematical Statistician for Program Evaluation include planning, developing, and executing activities that support and strengthen NCSES's core activities plus NSF's program evaluations. The incumbent will be a member of an NSF-wide Evaluation and Assessment Capability team (in the Office of Integrative Activities) responsible for designing and conducting rigorous program evaluations throughout the Foundation. The Mathematical Statistician for Program Evaluation will use knowledge of statistical, social science, and evaluation methods and standards, to plan, execute, and advise on evaluation activities, methodological approaches, survey initiatives, data collections, statistical analyses, and the interpretation of findings. Duties include the following:

    A. Application of Statistical Methods and Standards to support NSF Evaluation and NCSES Data Collections

    C. Special Projects
