    Summary

    Our Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army's mission. They provide necessary skills that are crucial to supporting our military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

    This position is located at Schofield Barracks and Fort Shafter Hawaii.

    We will be holding a Hiring Fair from 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM at the Aliamanu Military Reservation (AMR) gym on January 18, 2018. The AMR gym is located at 154 Kauhini Road (Bldg 1780), Honolulu Hawaii 96818. No base access is required for this event.

    Management will conduct on-the-spot interviews of qualified applicants through-out the day and if selected, tentative job offers* will be extended. Applications will be accepted up to 2:00 PM; however, applicants participating in the Hiring Fair will receive first consideration as they arrive.

    If attending, please bring the following:

    • At least two (2) copies of your resume
    • At least six (6) references with contact information (personal and professional).
    • Valid photo ID
    • Social Security Card
    If requesting hiring preference/consideration, please also bring the following:
    • DD 214 for Veterans
    • Military Orders and marriage certificate (for Military Spouses)

    The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is the local commuting area for the Island of Oahu. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

    Responsibilities

    Performs a variety of tasks performing several steps or sequences of tasks that require attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures. In accordance with current menu, prepares and combines fruits and vegetables for salads. Makes simple sandwiches and performs other simple food preparation. Responsible for proper slicing of deli meats and cheeses and cutting of fruits and vegetables for garnish. In accordance with customer's orders, processes and organizes food, arranges garnishes, checks for appearance, quality and quantity and ensures proper presentation in accordance with set standards. Operates a cash register. Cleans kitchen utensils, pots, pans, storage containers, as well as sweeping and mopping the floor. Restocks storeroom, walk in refrigerator/freezer, front line refrigerators, freezers, coolers, and dry goods. Responsible for cleaning of dining area, to include but not limited to wiping tables, chairs, empting the trash, and vacuuming.

    May operate a beverage cart on the golf course, working independently, to include loading and unloading the beverage cart in accordance with set standards.
