    Responsibilities

    As the IT Specialist (APPSW) some of your typical work assignments may include:

    • Gather requirements, plans, design, builds, develops (programs ), tests, maintenance and documentation of cloud hosted, web-based, grants management capabilities.
    • Perform development activities for custom software applications to support the mission of the agency using Active Server Pages (ASP).Microsoft .NET languages, XML, SQL, T-SQL, Ajax, and Java Script languages for the development of database-driven information systems.
    • Manage all software development, bug/fixes, modernization and enhancements using sound agile project management principles and software development best practices.
    • Serve as project manager for all software and software related projects. Set project budget priorities, manage project schedules, lead and oversee projects, manage risk, ensure deadlines are met, and superintend the effectiveness and efficiency of NEA software applications.
    • Serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on software application related contracts and as technical expert for the selection of commercial-off-the-self (COTS) software, and any software services provided by government or commercial suppliers.
