    This position is located in the Office of the Chairman, Chief Information Officer Organization (CIO), Office of the Chief Information Security Officer, Privacy Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of information security and privacy.

    Provides input on regulatory, privacy and information policy issues, including dissemination, training and awareness. Evaluates privacy risks, making recommendations to address control weaknesses and consulting with various internal departments in addressing risk and serves as information privacy consultant to the various divisions and offices.

    Performs analyses and prepares reports on privacy controls and improvements in response to requests for such information from Congressional, Federal and Corporation senior staff and from non-governmental sources. Delivers, and/or ensures the delivery of initial and on-going privacy training and orientation to all employees.

    Maintains knowledge of federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitoring advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance and assists with the development of communications strategies for ensuring employees are aware of the measures being taken to protect information.

    Coordinates and assists in the development of policies and procedures for projects that accurately reflect privacy regulations. Reviews business objectives, new product development concepts, and marketing initiatives to determine potential gaps with information and/or privacy policy guidelines and conducts privacy assessments of systems and policies in accordance with existing privacy-related government regulations such as the E-Government Act.

    Performs monitoring, tracking and reporting on status and performance results for privacy initiatives. Processes sensitive privacy data loss incidents and develops privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and supports the initial and periodic information privacy risk assessments and related ongoing compliance monitoring activities.
