Incumbent will be responsible for front desk and reservations. Will ensure guest privacy and security measures are maintained at all times. Receive requests and processes reservations within established guidelines. When rooms are not available, provides a certificate of non-availability (CNA) and/or alternative lodging within the area. Change and cancel reservations as requested by the guests. Utilize property management system to register guests and assign rooms upon check-in. Secures authorization for credit cards, collects service charges for damage and other charges upon guest check-out. Receives and is accountable for change fund, preparation of daily activity reports (DAR) and deposits cash receipts at end of shift. Incumbent will inventory keys and other supplies or amenities maintained at front desk. Using the property management system may run reports as requested or needed. Log trouble calls and ensure appropriate department is notified. Incumbent may need to provide guests information/maps of base or local area. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of National Agency background Check (NACI) with written inquiries. This position involves work on workdays, weekends, and holidays, as well as rotating shifts, often consisting of other than normal duty hours. Certification for front desk operations and other requirement outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide obtained within established time frame. Incumbent may be recalled to duty and/or required to work overtime, including on an emergency basis. A valid state driver license to travel to other facilities may be required within the normal scope of duties and may be assigned to work at either location as needed.
Six months of work experience that demonstrates knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, and regulations related to hospitality operations preferred. Incumbent must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and various software programs. Must possess basic math and reading skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to handle, control, and account for large amounts of cash.
Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee’s eligibility to work in the United States. Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
