Child, Youth & School Services are essential family programs which directly support the military lifestyle and reduce the conflict between parental responsibilities and mission requirements. We strive to meet the needs of our patrons and the installation mission through these systems:

These services are a supplement and support to our families who are the primary agents in the care and development of their children. CYS Services offers a range of age appropriate opportunities and activities for children and youth ages 4 weeks to 18 years.

Major Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Conditions of Employment:

2. Satisfactory completion of a physical is required prior to Entrance on Duty. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility, as determined by medical authority. Already immune individuals - based on documented receipt of vaccine series or doctor diagnosed illness - or those subject to religious exemption or contraindication are exempt from this requirement.
3. Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable background checks/investigation to determine suitability for this position.
4. Scheduled work hours can include early morning, daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
5. Applicants chosen from this announcement can be selected for, or scheduled to work at any Fort Leavenworth CYS facility with an opening at time of application.
6. This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require contact with children.
7. Possess and maintain the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds; walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
8. Incumbent is legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
9. Individuals who have been trained are required to administer routine and rescue medications prescribed by a physician to children/youth, perform CPR and first aid, and provide reasonable accommodation to children/youth with special needs.
10. Travel to/from on/off post locations may be required. Schedule may include irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends. Duties involve working indoors and outdoors.
11. Successful completion of Annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated competence is required.
