About the Position:
This position is located at the 7th Signal Command, 106th Signal Brigade, Regional Network Enterprise Center, Signal Network Center, Information Assurance Division, Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. Fort McCoy is located in a good rural area, between Tomah and Sparta. The area offers commendable schools and reasonable housing costs situated between two major interstates. Fort McCoy has an excellent Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program. Activities open to employees include the Whitetail Ridge Recreation Activity (ski hill, tubing and other winter sports), a fitness center with Olympic-size pool, saunas etc. and Pine View Recreation Area with an RV/camping park. Obtains and analyzes network utilization reports for audit purposes.
Restores critical installation services, including emergency communication services and network capabilities, in response to disaster or major critical failure.
Use network monitoring tools (e.g., sniffer products, SPECTRUM, Fluke Netflow Tracker, or similar network monitoring tool) to identify and isolate suspicious activity.

Develops requisitions for additional hardware and software, testing and installing upon receipt.
Provides connectivity via wireless technology, including installation and maintenance of security devices and access points to provide the wireless service.
Troubleshoot network problems through the review of network performance or diagnostics.
Maintains technical competence in existing and new software packages as they apply to operating systems, security application software.
Understanding of customer support principles sufficient to receive, respond to, and ensure resolution of problems.
Coordinates with CONUS Theatre Network Operations and Security Center (C-TNOSC), Regional Cyber Command - Conus (RCC-C) and peers for problem resolution.
Oversee and maintain system configuration, manage the installation and integration of system patches, updates, and enhancements, and fully documents all system baselines and modifications to network infrastructure and production systems.
Provides connectivity and operates local area network (LAN) and campus area networks (CAN) between LANs and associated computer resources for specific user groups.
Provides wide-area network (WAN) support, providing connectivity to NIPRNET and SIPRNET and continuous availability.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
Recommends, develops and maintains local procedures for networks, system operations, and product assembly and installation.
Assess the extent and operational impact of a network disruption and initiates critical installation service restoral actions including emergency communication services and network capabilities.
Reviews, evaluates, and fine tunes components to achieve peak efficiency within the overall network connectivity.
Monitors operation of the network and ensures that hardware and software are functioning properly and that operation standards are met.
