America's Logistics Combat Support Agency
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.
This position is a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Recreation Specialist (Program Manager), NF-0188-04 position with DLA Installation Operations at Recreation Specialist (Program Manager), NF-0188-04, in the Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Division.
This position is a regular full-time (RFT) position, which guarantees 40 hours per week. As a Recreation Specialist (Program Manager) the incumbent is responsible for:
1. Developing, managing, maintaining, planning, and administering outdoor recreation activities programs to support eligible
personnel and to assist injured or disabled Soldiers with recreation programs and other MWR activities.
2. Scheduling and publicizing of outdoor recreation activities, insuring maximum effectiveness in attracting and motivating
participants and in providing the widest possible range of activities in terms of community interests and needs.
3. Preparing budgets.
4. Providing SOPs and training to personnel on how to conduct multi-faceted general and therapeutic recreation programs
carried out in numerous indoor and outdoor facilities.
5. Planning and coordinating training for staff.
Position-specific Conditions of Employment
This position requires the incumbent to work shift hours which includes weekends, holidays, and possibly overtime.
General Conditions of Employment
