    NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

    The primary purpose of the IT SPECIALIST, GS-2210-11, is to provide information technology (IT) technical and analytical guidance and support.

    Non-DMOS/DAFSC applicants are encouraged to apply for the positions if experience is held. A two year compatibility waiver MAY be obtained.

    There are multiple positions that need to be filled in different position descriptions (PDs). Below are the position titles and their introductions:

    IT Specialist (INFOSEC): The purpose of this position is to serve as the unit Information Assurance Specialist during day-to-day in-garrison planning and execution of information assurance and to serve as planner for deployed operations requiring the same. The incumbent administers the communication-computer security and awareness training programs.

    IT Specialist (NETWORK):
    The purpose of the position is to provide technical and analytical guidance and support for the design of information technology (IT) networks that interconnect tactical sites through a variety of transmission media, considering the needs of requesting agencies, tactics and doctrine.

    IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT):
    The purpose of the position is to provide information technology system support to the assigned unit. The incumbent provides systems administration support on workstations and servers using multiple operating systems. The incumbent is responsible for installing and testing the system security configuration and monitoring, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining workstation and server hardware and software. The incumbent is the primary customer support specialist for the classified systems used throughout the unit.
