This is a centrally managed position in the Audit Career Field
- The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and guide day to day activities within the Operations Directorate of the Air Force Audit Agency. The incumbent provides audit related staff support to the Director of Operations and the Auditor General of the Air Force. Assignments require problem definition analysis and resolution, planning, coordination, policy interpretation, and reporting.
- Monitors Air Force Audit Agency (AFAA) compliance with Air Force, DoD, and Federal programs and policies. Incumbent is responsible for the AFAA's external reporting requirements. Studies and interprets publications and changes relating to audit operations, financial, business, and accounting principles to determine their effect on Air Force operations.
- Facilitates the Air Force Audit Agency's organizational mission to provide management with quality audit services. Coordinates centrally directed audits with HQ Air Force organizations, major commands, and the Inspector General organizations. Assists in resolving non-concurrences with top management officials in the Air Force Audit Agency, major commands and Air Staff.
- Monitors and reports on audit resource requirements and execution to achieve AFAA goals. Reviews and structures the organization to optimize the use of resources and maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Performs analysis, tracks and monitors performance metrics, and maintains database information to maximize AFAA audit performance.
Occasional travel - Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
