    About this position. This position is located at the Wellpinit Service Unit, in Wellpinit, WA. The primary purpose of the position is to supervise and direct all activities of the nursing staff which includes registered nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Nursing Assistants, and Health Technician (Certified Medical Assistants). This position reports to the Clinical Director.

    The IHS is required by law to give absolute preference to qualified applicants who meet the Secretary of the Interior's definition of Indian for appointment to vacancies within the IHS in accordance with established IHS policy as outlined in the Indian Health Manual Part 7, Chapter 3.     • Directs an ambulatory care nursing department to provide optimal patient care.
    • Serves as leave granting authority, evaluates employee performance and other common supervisory duties.
    • Assesses ambulatory care nursing needs and plan the ambulatory care nursing program around the identified needs.
    • Establishes policies and procedures for the health centers' ambulatory care nursing services.
    • Provides direct patient care as an ambulatory care nurse.
