This position is being filled under the Acquisition Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) using OPM's Direct Hire Authority.
This position is part of the Department of Defense .
As a Physical Scientist you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Conducts scientific and technical teams responsible for initiating and directing major procurement actions for implementation of research programs by DTRA.
- Applies scientific knowledge of EMP propagation and coupling, particularly applied to effects on electronics, to the formation of broad research and test objectives for EMP phenomenology.
- Develops concepts for R&D programs including methods for conducting such investigations, special techniques, and innovative approaches and determines whether such concepts can be correlated or combined with other research activities which are in the planning, development, or execution stage.
- Coordinates program planning with appropriate DTRA and DoD activities.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
