    THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

    This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER, Position Description Number D2155000and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.

    NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

    **This vacancy will be used to fill six (6) positions**

    AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite military technicians in the Florida National Guard; Category 2: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 3: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard.

    INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT: This position will be filled as an excepted indefinite appointment for an unspecified period of time not to exceed 30 September 2018. The incumbent may be terminated at any time within this period upon a 30-day notice. The incumbent will have no reemployment rights to his/her former position or any other position. This position may be converted to permanent if funding is available.

    Responsibilities

    As a POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-6, you will perform and enforce the full range of security forces duties within the military installation. Apprehend and detain violators of laws, rules, and regulations and turns them over to the Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers for arrest and/or posting of collateral. Serve at fixed posts or patrols the installation on foot or in vehicles; responds to alarms, irregularities, and unusual or suspicious circumstances. Respond to calls for emergency assistance to include active shooter, suspicious persons, catastrophic events, scenes of crimes/natural disasters and enemy attacks, and makes apprehensions.
