    The selectee for this position will serve as a Interdisciplinary position that may be filled by any of the following job series: Physical Scientist (1301), Environmental Engineer (0819), or Biological Scientist (0401) in the Environmental Division of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

    Responsibilities

    The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

    • Manage land and water use in compliance with environmental regulations and policies (e.g., Pollution
      Abatement Program, Hazardous Waste Management, Drinking Water Program).
    • Review and analyze forms, applications, permits, documents, or other information to make
      determinations (e.g., disposition, impact to environment, compliance with regulations, trends and level
      of risk, determining solutions, mitigation actions).
    • Provide oversight of environmental compliance of drinking water standards.
    • Manage environmental compliance projects (e.g., air, hazardous waste, wastewater, solid waste,
      drinking water, spills, petroleum oils and lubricants [POLs], underground storage tanks [USTs],
      polychlorinated biphenyls [PCBs] asbestos, lead-based paint [LBP], radon) to mitigate harmful
      environmental effects.
    • Oversee contracted work to ensure conformance to scopes of work for environmental projects.
