SHAPE, BELGIUM
This position is located at SHAPE, Belgium. SHAPE is the Supreme Headquarters of Allied Powers in Europe. Allied Command Operations (ACO) is
one of NATO's two strategic military commands. It is responsible for all Alliance operations wherever it may be required. The surrounding area is
rural with other cities within 30 minutes drive. The base is in central Belgium with the Netherlands, Luxemburg, France, and Germany within a
day's drive; the United Kingdom is also easily accessible via ferry or chunnel. The base is small but offers most amenities provided by larger
installations. The average weather is mild with little extremes of hot or cold seasonal conditions.

Serves as a Special Advisor to the Commander, NATO Special Operation Headquarters (NSHQ), a U.S. three-star General Officer, and acts as the principal advisor on security and protocol matters. As the Security Advisor to the Commander and the headquarters at large, responsible for all aspects of personnel, physical, and information security for the NSHQ. As Chief of Protocol, in responsible for managing all command level international engagements and protocol functions held at NSHQ facilities, NSHQ sponsored visits, as well as functions outside the NSHQ.
