    Summary

    The selectee for this position will serve as a Librarian (Program and Acquisitions) in the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.

    As a Librarian (Program and Acquisitions), you will be responsible for creating, planning, developing and marketing a full range of library programs and services for children and young adults.

    Responsibilities

    The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

    • Coordinates with marketing to plan and implement PR campaigns and publicity for all programming.
    • Plan book displays, seasonal and special emphasis displays and bulletin board displays for all libraries.
    • Reviews collection management policies and reviews bibliographies, book reviews and other selection sources to select all print and non-print library materials for children and young adults.
    • Responsible for tracking the budget limits given by the supervisory Librarian for these materials.
    • Perform outreach to the community, offering child development, early child literacy and children's literature training to the staff of the Child Development Center, the home day care providers and homeschooling families.
    • Plan and present programs in the library.
