The selectee for this position will serve as a Historianfor the DEPARTMENT OF THENAVY.
Selectees are appointed to a position with promotion potential (e.g. selected at the GS-5 grade with potential to the GS-11). Incumbents may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.
The successful selectee will perform duties such as:
- Apply standard practices in citing the sources on which their studies are based.
- Study of the events and personalities associated with a particular "historic" site.
- Engage in studies of historic sites may offer opinions as to whether the site appears to be historically worthy of preservation or restoration.
- Identify and determine the facts regarding the acquisition of the statutes.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
