As a INFORMATION RESOURCES SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9, your work involves supervising or performing work requiring knowledge of (a) the basic processes of administration, (b) the principles and standard practices of management, and (c) the techniques of organization, direction, coordination, and control. This position is located in the Plans and Resources branch of the Communications Flight, Mission Support Group, of an Air National Guard aviation wing. Military membership required. The person selected to fill this position will implement and administer the organization's Knowledge Management program. This includes organizing and directing knowledge management initiatives and educating users to effectively collect, create, use, disseminate, and dispose of organizational knowledge. Some primary duties include managing and providing guidance to users of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) - i.e., SharePoint - services, as well as administering the Records Management program. Additionally, the selectee will serve as a point of contact for organizational publications and forms, and will participate in the design, creation, maintenance, coordination, approval, publication and life cycle. This person will also be responsible for managing key civil liberties programs including the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA). He/she will provide training, guidance, and services to organizational personnel on a recurring basis and ensure compliance with the law, playing a key role in balancing security, privacy, and transparency. Finally, the selectee will perform a range of other duties related to the creation, use, and transfer of knowledge, helping to preserve organizational memory and promote continuity across generational and professional boundaries in order to promote continued mission success.
