    This National Guard position is for a INFORMATON SECURITY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1650P01 and is part of the MA ANG 102nd IW, National Guard.     AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Open to current members of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, or those eligible to enlist and/or transfer into the Massachusetts Air National Guard.

    NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position Constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.     Responsibilities

    As a INFORMATON SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-2210-11, you will serve as the units Special Security Officer (SSO) and manage, supervise, lead, administer, develop, deliver, and support information technology (IT) systems and services. Establishes unit security operations. Develops entry procedures to provide positive identifications and circulation control within the unit's restricted and controlled areas. Oversees the Unit Resource Protection Program. Conducts periodic inspections, identifies deficiencies, and initiates immediate corrective action. Manages the unit security program.

    Provides advice, counsels, and/or instructs pertinent group personnel on security and administrative regulations, policies, and concerns. Develops local directives establishing procedures for implementing applicable security programs.

    Manages the Sensitive Compartment Information Security Program. Establishes procedures for safeguarding Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) classified information. Inspects and provides staff assistance to ensure work centers follow established DOD, NSA, DCI, AF, ANG and unit security operating procedures and instructions.

    Authorized requestor of personnel security investigations for members requiring a Top Secret - SCI clearance. Indoctrinates and periodically re-indoctrinates members on the responsibilities and requirements associated with access to sensitive national security information. Administers a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) briefing with individuals prior to indoctrination to SCI.

    Forwards and receives individual security clearance verification. Advises and provides technical assistance to command staff concerning the establishment, contents, and processing of Special Security Files (SSFs) on unit personnel. Ensures the affected individual is notified in writing of the withdrawal of security access.
