    This position is located at the Martinsburg, WV VA Medical Center in VISN 5. The Martinsburg VA medical center is a Level 1C complexity facility providing care to our Nation's Veterans. The medical center provides comprehensive health care through primary care, inpatient medicine, surgery, psychiatric, domiciliary, and a long-term care unit. Martinsburg, WV VA Medical Center has seven Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Cumberland, MD, Hagerstown, MD, Fort Detrick, MD, Harrisonburg, VA, Stephens City, VA, Petersburg, WV and Franklin WV.

    Responsibilities

    The Martinsburg, WV VAMC is looking for a Radiologist who interprets General Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine examinations per privileges granted by the Chief of Imaging and the Professional Standards Board. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • practicing general diagnostic radiology and clinical nuclear medicine and effectively serving as a team member of the Martinsburg Healthcare Diagnostic Imaging Service
    • provides written reports within 48 hours of the examination
    • shares back-up call responsibilities with all other radiologists
    • interprets General Radiology examinations (plain film) as provided
    • performs fluoroscopic examinations (contrast and non-contrast) with the assistance of a licensed Technologist
    • assists providers in performance of specialized examinations when requested
    • performs some IR procedures
    • interprets CT examinations of the head, neck, body and some extremities
    • interprets ultrasound examinations
    • interprets routine Nuclear Medicine studies such as Bone Scan, HIDA, MUGA, Thyroid
    • the candidate will have clinical experience including fellowship training in the area of PET/CT, cardiac, endocrine, oncology and molecular nuclear medicine imaging
    • interprets SPECT examinations, including myocardial stress tests
    • participate in monthly Tumor Board as the representative for Nuclear Medicine
    • participates in Quality Management activities such as film quality, clerical checks, peer review and other activities as required
    • will maintain ongoing CME and CPE training as required by licensure, credentialing and VA mandates
    • other duties as assigned

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
