NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, GS-1601-11, this position is located at the 162d Wing (Tucson, AZ) in the Aircrew Flight Equipment Function, of the Air Operations Directorate. Its primary purpose is to serve as manager of the Aircrew Flight Equipment Function, as equipment specialist, and Wing technical expert over all of the aviation Aircrew Flight Equipment Function activities to include: personnel supervision and operations support; material, fiscal and facility resources management; aircrew training programs; information management; and equipment air worthiness certifications. The incumbent also serves as liaison with state, Federal, and military agencies for matters concerning aircrew/passenger safety, search-rescue and recovery, mission support, and operational planning. Position involves performance of supervisory related duties for 25% or more of the time.
