About the Position:
This position is located at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, in the Directorate for Surgery, Department of Surgery, Ophthalmology Clinic. This position involves some walking, standing, and sitting (entering data into a computer). Some of the standing may be extensive, such as when scrubbed into surgical cases, and may permit little freedom of motion.

As a Health Technician (OPHTHALMOLOGY) you will perform a variety examinations of patients. Interview each patient, for medical and eye history, conducts reconciliation of current patient medications, and reviews medical records for additional history required for the examination/testing. Assist in a variety of surgical ophthalmic specialized procedures. Perform refractions through a variety of instruments and methods. Accurately set-up surgical rooms and equipment. Accurately set-up and use corneal topographer, Optical Coherence Tomography, etc. Monitor overall clinical flow and function. Prepares daily appointment schedule. Organize and maintain supplies for administrative and clinical/surgical services.
