The incumbent is a Supervisory International Trade Analyst in the Office of Investigations. As a supervisor, you will lead, manage and provide expertise in the conduct of import injury investigations and other international trade-related projects in the office. The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership and overall direction and coordination to interdisciplinary teams in the development and implementation of Commission rules, procedures, and policy as it relates to performing statutory investigations. The position requires the ability to supervise the collection, compilation, and reporting of relevant data from a variety of sources, including questionnaire and public or private sources on a wide variety of industries and markets. The incumbent oversees the production of written reports and deliverables prepared by team members that assist the Commission in making its import injury determinations. The incumbent ensures high quality data analysis, accuracy, completeness, and adherence of work products to Commission rules, practices, and procedures. This position requires the ability to build and promote coalitions with internal and external stakeholders in conducting investigations and strategic vision in identifying and originating opportunities to enhance the quality of information and products and efficiency of processes in import injury activities. You will perform the full range of human resource management responsibilities associated with supervision, including assigning and reviewing work, recruiting, training and managing personnel issues, performance management, workforce development, and building a positive work environment that challenges and motivates others to succeed. While there is no education requirement for this position, the ideal and most successful candidate should possess a professional body of knowledge related to this position. This would typically be obtained by possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of international trade/relations, economics, business administration, or other fields directly related to the production of goods and services in international trade. Such theoretical knowledge ideally would include an understanding of the technical and economic factors influencing international trade and competitiveness, commodity and trade collection methods and analytical.
