The Office of Investment Security, in the International Affairs (IA) office of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, fulfills Treasury’s statutory responsibilities as chair of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), which has the authority to review the national security effects of foreign acquisitions of U.S. businesses. The office leads and coordinates the review by sixteen Executive Branch departments and White House offices of each transaction notified to CFIUS.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Evaluation Criteria 1: Skill in the analytical methods of international finance, economics and policy analysis (e.g. public policy or corporate strategy) including but not limited to: specific corporate mergers and acquisitions, financial analysis of particular events, and analysis of specific international investment policy or legal actions. Experience formulating policy/strategy recommendations in the above topic areas.
Evaluation Criteria 2: Skill in the relevant substantive issue areas of analyzing and evaluating national security risks related to specific financial transactions, including but not limited to: foreign direct investment, sanctions, money laundering and transnational crime.
Evaluation Criteria 3: Oral and written communication skills evidenced by the ability to deliver clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal factual and analytical presentations to a variety of audiences, as a speaker or in a primary role.
