NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
VEHICLE/CARGO MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, WS-5803-13
This is a multi-state position located in the Transportation function of the 127th Wing, Selfridge ANG Base, MI. and 102 FW, Otis ANG Base, MA. The purpose of the position is to supervise workers, through one or more subordinate supervisors, in accomplishing logistics distribution functions. Supervises activities including operations and maintenance of the base vehicle and equipment fleets and traffic management.
1. Planning: Plans, schedules and directs long range procedures to manage vehicle fleet operations and maintenance, and transportation of material,
personnel, dependents and personal property.
2. Work Direction: Performs frequent inspections of operating activities to determine the status of training, condition of facilities and equipment,
and effectiveness of services rendered, providing solutions to problems related thereto.
3. Administration: Schedules and approves leave of immediate subordinates.
4. Determines need for protective clothing, safety glasses, special physical examinations because of occupational hazards, etc.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
