ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: NGA seeks Data Stewarts who understands data, how to view it, manipulate it, influence it and analyze it to support missions such as National Intelligence, National Security, Military Operations, Military Planning, and Disaster Relief and Preparedness for a diverse audience including the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and senior US and foreign government officials up to and including The United States Congress and the President of the United States. The Data Stewart will be part of a multi-disciplinary team constructed to use design and computational thinking to find scalable solutions to the Agency's most challenging and highest priority problems sets.
Band 03: Data Stewards manage data within databases to satisfy routine customer requirements. They select and apply methods and techniques to generate, to approve, and to populate moderately complex data for databases. They evaluate data quality and determine data availability. They apply broad knowledge of products, data, and systems to support the extraction, analysis, and finishing of data. They prepare and validate data for web publishing. They organize data properties and relationships according to a system of categories. They create models or simulations of the intersection of data categories to enable data decisions and determine potential risk and risk mitigation.

Band 04: Data Stewards lead the management of data within databases to satisfy difficult or unusual customer requirements. They plan and lead efforts to generate, to approve, and to populate complex data for databases. They evaluate data quality and determine data availability. They apply comprehensive knowledge of products, data, and systems to support the extraction, analysis, finishing, and web publishing of data. They provide official publications with an authoritative standardized dataset, for use by the US Government and the general public. They review and approve newly created models or simulations which enable data decisions and determine potential risk and risk mitigation.
* Deliver custom solutions for complex data requests and overcome system limitations to satisfy customer requirements
* Identify, analyze, and resolve program risks to deliver data on time
* Provide authorization for official data publishing
Band 05: Data Stewards oversee and provide strategic direction for data management within databases. They research and implement new methods and procedures to generate, to approve, and to populate highly complex data for databases. They evaluate data quality and determine data availability. They apply expert knowledge of products, data, and systems to support the extraction, analysis, and finishing of data. They oversee and authorize data for web publishing. Additionally, they develop mid-range to long range plans for data programs to ensure alignment with mission, to achieve organizational goals, and to integrate requirements across the office.
* Validate data taxonomy and access controls to ensure data integrity and accessibility
* Develop strategies to increase co-production with US and foreign partners
* Develop contingency plans for data access and availability as a part of crisis management

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.
Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:
1) Education: Cartography, Computer Science, Geology, Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Physical Science, Urban and Regional Planning, or a related discipline;
2) Experience: Software Coding: C++ Java, AND/OR Statistics & Modelling: R, Python, AND/OR Query Languages: SQL, NoSQL, AND/OR Scripting: JavaScript, Python, Cloud Services Design, Algorithm Development, Data Visualization, Big Data /Data Modelling, Machine Vision & Deep Learning, Optimization.
