About the Position:
This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-APF-W6TMAA US ARMY NAT GROUND INTL C.

Serves as a General Military Intelligence (GMI) Analyst responsible for analysis of conventional and irregular foreign ground forces in the Latin America Branch of the Regional Division East Asia and Americas at the National Ground Intelligence Center. Duties include developing research strategies to explore all available data sources, assembling and organizing information, evaluating sources for strengths and weaknesses, using structured analytic techniques and/or social science methods to develop analytic judgments that address key research questions, and presenting analytic judgments in a clear, concise, and convincing manner. Leverage expertise and knowledge of conventional forces tactics, techniques, procedures; build expertise in regional dynamics and/or armed conflict dynamics, including armed groups' strategy, organization, capabilities, tactics, recruitment, governance, and/or cooperation and competition with other groups to address priority intelligence requirements. Deliver key findings, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences, including senior civilian and military decision makers. Engage regularly with academic, military, and/or other collaborative partners to explore research questions, consider assumptions and alternatives, and/or co-author coordinated pieces when appropriate.
Perform as an All Source Intelligence Analyst of NGIC's Latin America Branch, East Asia Americas Division, Regional Directorate. In this developmental position, incumbent receives tailored instruction, guidance, training, and supervision designed to equip incumbent with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful performance in the full performance level, or target position. Under supervision conducts comprehensive research and analysis of insurgent, counter-insurgent or foreign military ground forces, and their operations; capabilities; tactics, techniques and procedures; and patterns and trends to support all source intelligence and threat production.In this developmental position, incumbent receives tailored instruction, guidance, training, and supervision designed to equip incumbent with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful performance in the full performance level, or target position. Under supervision conducts comprehensive research and analysis of insurgent, counter-insurgent or foreign military ground forces, and their operations; capabilities; tactics, techniques and procedures; and patterns and trends to support all source intelligence and threat production.
