This position is located in the Office of the General Counsel. The ideal candidate would possess experience in international trade with an emphasis on antidumping, countervailing duty, safeguard and/or federal administrative law and litigation, and demonstrated superior legal writing skills.
As a General Attorney, you will primarily provide legal advice and support in proceedings such as antidumping, countervailing duty and safeguard investigations under the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended, and other authorities; develop litigation strategies for the protection of the USITC's interests and defend USITC decisions in the courts of the United States and other tribunals; and develop procedures and regulations to implement new or revised legislation and agency decisions. General Attorneys also may provide advice on administrative law issues.
The employee will be required to serve a 2-year trial period.
In addition to the specialized experience and educational requirements above, applicants must currently be a member in good standing of the Bar of a state or territory of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
