This position is located in Safety and Occupational Health, Government Publishing Office in Washington , District of Columbia .
The selectee will work Shift I and a Tour of Duty from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
The selectee serves as the technical advisor and expert on all GPO environmental issues and program requirements; and is responsible for providing policy guidance and instructions, consultative assistance, and coordination in all of the following areas: compliance to include air, water and land pollution; hazardous waste management and disposal; asbestos inspections and abatement; installation restoration; environmental management research and development; environmental cleanup/restoration; recycling; and monitoring contractors engaged in implementing and accomplishing work associated with the environmental protection programs. Additionally, the selectee plans, develops, reviews, evaluates and directly participates in the establishment and implementation of environmental protection and enhancement policy throughout the Agency.

As a Environmental Protection Specialist, your typical work assignments may include the following:
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify for the PG - 14.
Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Background Investigation:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy.
