The Office of Auditing conducts audits on all facets of DoD operations. The work results in recommendations for reducing costs; eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse; improving performance; strengthening internal controls; and achieving compliance with laws, regulations, and policy.
The Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General Deputy Inspector General for Auditing has established the Contingency Operations (CO) Directorate (division) under the Audit Front Office. The CO's mission is to conduct audits in support of the Lead Inspector General for contingency operations, such as Operations Inherent Resolve (OIR) and Freedom's Sentinel (OFS). Audit has several vacancies available within the Directorate (division) in Alexandria, VA. The positions available are for Auditors (511 series)/ Program Analysts (343 series) GS-11/12 equivalents.

Program Analyst - demonstrates comprehension of and professional judgment in the application of generally accepted government auditing standards (GAGAS) and the Audit Handbook; and complies with these standards. Develops analyses, methodologies, and schedules; examines transactions and supporting documentation; and analyzes databases relevant to the project objectives and assigned tasks. Duties include:
