This position is located in Transportation section of Engineering Service.
Delivers passengers and/or cargo to destination on the prescribed schedule. Maintains mileage and inspection logs of liftgate vehicles.Completes trip tickets, and gas receipt forms.Handles controls for starting, stopping, backing and driving vehicles.Operates sedans, mini-vans, passenger vans and wheelchair vans for the purpose of transporting patients and materials to their destination.Refuels vehicles, checks and maintains fluid levels, lubricates vehicle lift gates, maintains correct tire pressure, and inspects and reports damage and/or defects to vehicle.Transports passengers and cargo in all types of vehicles, weather and road conditions.

PHYSICAL EFFORT/REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent may be required to assist patients into and out of the vehicle which involves physical exertion and frequent stooping a bending. The incumbent must be able to climb steps, squat, stoop, bend, lift various weights of loads, be on his/her feet over long periods of time, lift patients in and out of vehicles, etc. Light physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Also some heavy physical effort is required in handling patients or cargo. Heavy physical effort is required in loading and unloading patients and or cargo in and out of vehicles. Position requires good vision and physical alertness when operating and training employees in the operating of equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The majority of work is performed out-of-doors, and exposure to extremes of cold, heat and moisture are common. He/she must be known as a careful driver and be subjected to traffic hazards. The incumbent may be required to fix flats and do minor repairs while on highway trips. Operator is required to work outside, be on his/her feet over long periods of time, lift patients in and out of vehicles, etc. Incumbent is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or when loading and unloading vehicles.
