Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) - Presidio of Monterey
Contracting Office mission is to provide customers with responsive,
appropriate, and professional advice and contracting support. To execute
contracts through knowledgeable business decisions and within compliance of
Federal Acquisition Regulations, resulting in timely delivery of products and
services offering the best overall value to the customers.
MICC is located in Seaside, CA on the Former Fort Ord military installation now called the Ord Military Community. Fort Ord was considered one of the most attractive locations of any U.S. Army post, because of its proximity to the beach and California weather. Seaside, CA is approximately 115 miles south of San Francisco and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Temps typically range in the 60s to 70s during the day and 40s to 50s at night. This is an Army Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L) Workforce position. You must meet DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the other duties of the position.

To qualify based on your experience and/or education, your resume must describe:
Basic Education Requirements
A. A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
AND
B. At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. (This requirement can be obtained within the bachelor's degree or in addition to the degree.)
NOTE: The education requirements listed above apply only to individuals entering DoD 1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD, who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000, are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS-1102 on or before September 30, 2000, are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
AND
One-year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service which includes assisting with monitoring contracts for compliance with applicable laws; maintaining contract files; and assisting with contacting contractors to clarify issues on contractual requirements. Assist in ensuring contractual actions are completed and ready to be closed. OR One full academic year of graduate education or law school or superior academic achievement to qualify at the GS-07 level.
One-year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting to verify contractor's responsibility and capability, resolve recurring problems and provide procurement assistance. OR Two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or masters or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B or J.D to qualify at the GS-09 level
One-year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes independently resolving conflicts, monitor contractor's performance for compliance with laws, and participate in planning, negotiation and administration of contracts. Analyze cost and pricing data and contract proposals OR Three full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree to qualify at the GS-11 level.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).
If vacancy is filled at the GS-07 level, incumbent will be eligible to be noncompetitively promoted to the GS-09 level and then the full performance GS-11 level. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor, and is contingent upon meeting regulatory and legal requirements for promotion, satisfactory performance and the availability of higher level work. Promotion is not guaranteed.
