    Summary

    Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

    These positions are being filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for Defense Acquisition Workforce Positions in accordance with 10 USC § 1705 (g).

    About the Position:
    U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command's (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC) is one of the most comprehensive software support centers within the Department of Defense. SEC provides much of the DoD's software expertise needed to support command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR), as well as logistics, business and enterprise systems in the modern digital environment. With a mission to provide life-cycle software solutions that enable warfighting superiority and information dominance across the enterprise, SEC supports the warfighter from the business office to the battlefield.

    In this position, you will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. In this developmental position you will have many opportunities to learn and gain experience through formal and on-the-job training which will acquaint you with the policies, methods and techniques peculiar to a position characterized by knowledge and skill requirement involving IT Specialist work. Assignments are progressively difficult and are designed to prepare you for more difficult and responsible work at the intermediate and ultimately the journeyman level.

    Responsibilities

    As a developmental IT Specialist (Information Security), you will assist in performing duties such as:

    • Implementing technical changes/enhancements for compliance with revised specifications on application or executive software systems;
    • Assessing client server hardware/software platform, technology or software integration and ongoing utilization;
    • Providing IT help desk support to internal customers;
    • Coordinating required IT Services through email or over the phone;
    • Providing information and assistance to organization personnel
