    JOB DESCRIPTION: Team Leads provide technical and process-related guidance, answer questions, and address technical issues to support the day-to-day operations of a work group or team. In addition, they support Supervisors by providing supplemental performance information for employee evaluations/appraisals and collaborating on strategies for accomplishing team goals and objectives. Lead HR Specialists apply a range of concepts, laws, regulations, policies, and practices to provide HR services. They serve as points of contact, coordinators, and advisors; gather and analyze data to examine issues, concerns, or inquiries; and develop and recommend alternatives or solutions. Incumbents in this specialty design and implement programs and processes to align development with employee goals and the agency mission.

    Responsibilities

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position serves as an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist within the Selections Branch (HDRTD) in the Talent Acquisition Office. The Selections Branch supports the identification and hiring of external job candidates to meet NGA's current and future talent needs. The incumbent will serve as a lead supporting the identification, development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of applicant pre-hire assessments, including pre-hire assessment program strategy and plans, assessment development and/or identification, validation studies, and psychometric analysis of assessment data. The incumbent should have knowledge of employment regulations and laws and experience implementing fair and legally defensible selection practices. The incumbent also collaborates with others to create strategies and tools to optimize and streamline the applicant screening and hiring process.

    The incumbent should be a dynamic researcher and data savvy professional who applies analytic rigor to each project. On a day-to-day basis, duties for this position include a combination of selection assessment development and support, validation work, psychometric and data analysis, problem solving, process improvement, and organizational research. The incumbent works with others to develop and communicate innovative plans to improve applicant assessment and enhance the applicant experience. The incumbent interacts regularly with personnel at all levels. Strong interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy are keys to success. Attention to detail, strong project management and writing skills and the ability to work multiple tasks simultaneously are required. Ability to foster communication and teamwork is a must.
