About the Position:
These announcements are for deployment tours varying length with 6 months, 9 months or 1 year being the most often used when under a Temporary Appointment and 13 months for a Term Appointment. Applications will be reviewed and referred for selection as vacancies occur within the organization

Serves as a Civil Engineer who is responsible for the review of plans and designs and original design development for civil engineering features of a multi-million dollar construction program being carried out in several foreign countries. These designs to be reviewed may be developed either within the team, by the engineering staffs of expeditionary forces, other government organizations, or by Architect-Engineer (A-E) teams from a number of civilian construction firms. Designs may apply to multiple projects within several different countries with varying requirements and code structures for each. Incumbent has full and final responsibility for the technical adequacy and accuracy of all designs originated and reviewed. Program may include designs for self-contained military installations airfields, landing strips, highways, port, and communication facilities, medical facilities, housing areas, a wide variety of standard, buildings utilities, power generating plants, district heating &cooling plants, distribution systems, and special requirements for both horizontal and vertical design. Applies perception and analysis in depth to a variety of inter-related and conflicting conditions present in such projects. Also must use judgment in selecting optimum design approaches from a technical and economic standpoint. Serves as a technically responsible specialist in the field of civil engineering and is called on for opinions and advice on any matters within this field.
