The Senior Digital Technology Advisor advises on administrative, technical, and policy oversight for the day-to-day operations of the VOA's technical operations. The Senior Digital Technology Advisor may lead major initiatives that span across agencies and often represents the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to the rest of the OCDO, the VOA, the BBG, and committees composed of governmental, public, and industry group stakeholders. The Senior Digital Technology Advisor must be a leader in digital transformation, bringing DevOps, Agile, Lean, and user-centric approaches to the VOA digital environment. He/she reports to the Chief Digital Officer.

-Works with the CDO on structuring VOA's technical program providing security and program oversight to deliver responsive, user-centric, high quality services to VOA journalists, employees, partner agencies, and the public.
-Advises VOA technical leadership through an era of rapid change and takes a leadership role in creating the digital and technical tools to operate efficiently in a digital age. Regularly proposes ways VOA technical operations can be made more efficient, while ensuring a high degree of technical proficiency, efficiency and quality in all digital and technical assets.
-She/he will be responsible for the creation and education of a large technical operations workforce of staff, contractors, and their workflows.
-Tracks the use of all technical assets creating and implementing standards for technical workflows, creating and implementing a data governance plan, aligning digital and broadcast technologies, and ensuring the VOA is operating in a secure technical environment.
-Works closely with VOA's editorial staffs, the Chief Digital Officer, and other senior staff. This includes bridging technology operations and VOA's editorial department needs, studio production and technology operations.
-Provides expert consultation on open-source software development, DevOps, and continuous integration, continuous delivery, and cloud platform and infrastructure solutions (PaaS, IaaS).
-Ensures all VOA systems are integrated and provide Restful API.
-Aligns the VOA digital solutions with the VOA broadcast technology solutions and serves as the liaison with the Technical Services and Innovation Department of the Broadcasting Board of Governors.
