    Responsibilities

    ASSISTANT PROGRAM MANAGER (REGISTERED NURSE)

    Outpatient Cardiology

    Full Time

    The Assistant Program Manager is crucial to the Health Care System and is accountable for providing leadership and direction to nursing staff in an outpatient environment.  In collaboration with the Program Manager, the Assistant Program Manager assumes responsibility and accountability for the day to day clinical operation and patient flow. This includes the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by the nursing staff in the department.  The Assistant Program Manager is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced-based nursing standards of practice.

    In this role, s/he demonstrates a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, and creative approaches to the management of complex care. Additionally, s/he will apply skills necessary to identify and/or coordinate discipline-specific education, as well as training in leadership and professional development to all levels of staff. This RN provides first line supervision and oversight for the administration of leave, counseling and disciplinary actions for assigned staff in collaboration with the Program Manager.

    Work schedule:  Work hours for this position are primarily day shift, however they are variable to meet program demands. This position has the potential to require some off tours, weekend and holiday work.

     

    Education/Experience Requirements: Baccalaureate or Master's degree in nursing plus 2 years of nursing leadership experience.
