    This position is located in the National Weather Services (NWS), Office of Weather Prediction with one vacancy in Tuscaloosa, AL.

    Responsibilities

    As a Hydrologist, you will perform the following duties:

    • Represent hydrologic and water resource programs at public and interagency meetings and helps to resolve hydrologic related issues.
    • Collect, analyze, disseminate and manage networks of basic water resource data including information on reservoir and lake storage, ground water levels and surface and ground water quality.
    • Perform daily hydrologic forecast functions including short-range and long-range forecasting.
    • Develop, modify, and utilize applicable state-of-the art computer hardware and software components in the preparation of studies of hydrological events and problems.
