This position of Information Technology Specialist (Internet) is located within the Information Technology Services Program (ITSP) at the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES), Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE). NCSES is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating data on financial and human resources for science and technology in the United States and globally. NCSES is the principal source within the Federal Government for information and statistics related to these resources. NCSES designs, supports, and directs periodic national surveys and performs a variety of other data collections and research. In a team setting, the ideal candidate supports the development and maintenance of NCSES's website and content management system (CMS) for timely dissemination of data and information.

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the accuracy of content on the NCSES website and providing project-level support for various website operations. Specific duties include the following:
Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
NSF is relocating to Alexandria, Virginia. In late summer of 2017, NSF will begin the transition from its current location in Arlington, VA to 2415 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22314. The new location is adjacent to a Metro station (Eisenhower Avenue on the Yellow Line) and there is ample parking in the area. There are several amenities nearby, such as restaurants, hotels, and shops.
Relocation expenses will not be paid.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP):
ICTAP and CTAP provide eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
