This position is located Miami VA Healthcare System, whose mission is to honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being. You will exercise full responsibility for developing, organizing, administering, and evaluating Art Therapy programs to provide therapeutic treatment to a wide range of psychiatric and/or medical patients in various areas. Your duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Evaluate the history, interests, aptitude and skills of patients through interviews, inventories, tests, and measurements;
- Use Art Therapy interventions to treat the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients, groups and families;
- Maintain and/or rehabilitate patients' physical and/or mental health; palliate symptoms related to terminal illnesses;
- Serve as a member of a multi/interdisciplinary treatment team to integrate therapy into a patient's overall treatment plan.
