NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires military membership in a compatible military assignment in the Iowa Army National Guard. As a AIRCRAFT PILOT, GS-2181-12 your duties are below;
As the C/2/211 MEDEVAC Flight Company Aviation Maintenance Officer, incumbent is responsible for wide variety of AV maintenance and operations functions, for the management of AV unique Management Decision Packages (MDEPs) and for a variety of office administrative functions.
Responsible for representing C/2/211 aviation company activities, capabilities, plans, policies, exercises, and strategy. Serves as the primary advisor to the commander on all aviation operations. Serves as special mission subject matter expert and liaison on various joint and combined service missions. Aviation representative for all distinguished visitor (DV) visits coordinating directly with higher headquarters, external commands and agencies. Serves as subject matter expert on all flight operations functions, policies and procedures and acts as command representative in developing new policies and procedures. Manages company flying hour program and ensures program meets both specific training and external support requirements. D0490
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for this position:
Education to qualify for this position: Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum. Must have Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from accredited civilian aviation programs or must have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide college transcripts to support your Educational claims.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a secret clearance as required by this position. If the selectee does not possess the applicable security clearance when hired, application must be made within 30 days of the start date. Failure to make application for the required security clearance will result in termination of employment.
Failure to complete NGB prescribed courses at the PEC for new FTS personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination of FTS.
