At the full performance level of the target conversion position (GS-11), you will serve as a Project Engineer (Pathways Recent Graduate) for the construction engineering and Quality Assurance construction by contract of Military, Civil Works and other construction projects. You will gain Engineering Construction experience for the construction by contract of major portions of new buildings, earth and concrete dams, flood control levees and channels, building and relocation of roadways, excavation, renovation of existing facilities, other construction related projects.
After program completion, Department of the Army Pathways Recent Graduates MAY be converted to a permanent or term appointment without further competition.
This position is being filled at the GS -07 level with potential conversion to a position with a full performance level at GS-11.

Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Specialized/General Experience:
To qualify at the GS-07 grade level: (Example: To qualify, applicants must possess [one year of specialized/general] experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level ([GS-05). Specialized] experience is defined as: Specialized experience must include experience with construction design, construction contracts and modifications, and contract plans and modifications.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
Ability to apply Engineering/Architectural practices
Ability to prepare reports and communication
Knowledge of Engineering/Architectural principles and practices
Selective Placement Factor: You must be a recent graduate within the previous two years (OR I am a veteran who was precluded from applying in the two year period due to a military service obligation, and am within 6 years of graduation) from an accredited institution AND have completed a bachelor, master, or doctorate degree. (NOTE: Ideal Candidates will have a degree specifically in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering fields. If you will gain a degree by July 2017 then indicate "yes" for this question, you MUST submit a copy of your final transcript to indicate your graduation date prior to placement).
