As a Nurse Practitioner you will be responsible for carrying out the following:

Basic Requirements:
Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
Positive Education Requirement. Please provide copy of license and transcripts.
Registration: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. An applicant who has graduated from an approved nursing educational program within the past 12 months may be appointed pending State registration as a professional nurse within 6 months of appointment. No person appointed pending registration may be retained beyond 6 months, or promoted, if registration has not been attained.
In addition to the basic requirements, you must possess the following:
You must demonstrate in your resume that you have at least one (1) year of qualifying experience as a Nurse Practitioner equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Examples of qualifying experience include: providing leadership in comprehensive health care service to patients and family members as a primary health resource; performing physical examinations, recording findings and making critical evaluations; performing psychiatric assessments or requesting special screening and laboratory tests and interpreting the results; carrying out clinical research procedures or administering clinical research drugs; assembling data for reporting to committees or organizations that oversee clinical research studies.

A one-year probationary period may be required upon selection/ placement.

All creditable service must be directly related to the duties of the position being filled and decisions to allow for such credit must be finalized prior to the selectee's entrance on duty.
