managing the Protocol Program for the group commander of a unique base were 4
MAJCOMS are being hosted by the Army. In addition to being the principal
advisor on all facets of etiquette and precise social an diplomatic procedures
to the above commander and organizations, due to Pope's proximity to Fort
Bragg, position also regularly supports aircraft arrivals/departures for
distinguished visitors (DV) to Headquarters, Joint Special Operations Command; Headquarters,
U.S. Army Special Operations Command; the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare
Center and School; Headquarters, XVIII Airborne Corps; and Headquarters, 82d
Airborne Division. These DVs. at least annually, may include the President of
the United States, foreign heads of state, the Vice President of the United
States, Secretaries of Defense, Army, Navy, Air Force, members of the Joint
Chiefs of Staff, and foreign ministers of defense.
-Responsible for planning and coordinating visits of
a large, diverse group of distinguished visitors which include a wide variety
of foreign dignitaries, Heads of State, reigning royalty, Senators and Representatives,
senior DoD officials, and local civic leaders (government and industry).
-Responsible for answering a wide variety of protocol
questions of broad scope and complexity from both on and off base personnel.
-Responsible for executing visits for a diverse group
of distinguished visitors to include high ranking military officers, civilian
equivalents, and foreign dignitaries from a wide variety of countries.
-Responsible for planning, preparing, presenting
and/or providing extensive protocol guidance to any and all units on base for
official ceremonies and special functions such as changes of command, award,
retirement and promotion ceremonies, luncheons and dinners, visits, tours, meetings,
conferences. Manages the Distinguished Visitor Program.
