NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. AIR OPERATIONS GROUP TRAINING SPECIALIST, GS-1702-9
This position is located in the Air National Guard (ANG), Component Numbered Air Force (cNAF), Air Operations Group (AOG) and Air Support Squadron (ASUS). Its purpose is to serve as the Unit Education and Training Manager and exercise responsibility for providing staff planning and assistance to ensure all required training is achieved. Due to the unique mission of the c-NAF, this PD cannot be used in any other organization.
As the Group Education and Training Manager, incumbent oversees, monitors, and evaluates military /ancillary training requisites for the unit.
Monitors the OJT training programs for the group and supported units, if any.
Monitors the Enlisted Specialty Training (EST) program by establishing policies and procedures to provide a uniform and effective EST program.
Confers with management and key operating personnel to discuss factors pointing to training needs, problems, and the goals of training.
Maintains liaison with the Field Training Detachment (FTD), Air Education and Training Command (AETC) advisory services, film libraries, and other training device resources and ensures their effective utilization in support of AOG and related training programs.
As unit Test Control Officer, administers controlled tests for personnel enrolled in mandatory/voluntary CDCs and Professional Military Education (PME) programs.
Oversees, develops, and administers management training programs for all personnel.
Performs other duties as assigned.
