APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a non-bargaining unit position.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications and mission requirements. Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards. Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Appraises subordinate workers' performance ensuring consistency and equity in rating techniques. Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management. Provides technical advice and assistance to wing leadership on business processes and performance and efficiency of logistics readiness functions of the squadron/ wing. Provides technical oversight for squadron plans, goals and standards for readiness and performance capabilities of the squadron. Responsible for programs associated with squadron business processes, resource management (facilities, equipment, budget, stock control and infrastructure), squadron analysis, systems management, strategic planning, metrics and training. Manages and performs work for providing training, resources, and systems to ensure the efficient and effective operation of installation deployment processes. Develops new approaches related to logistics workforce readiness to better support logistics services, systems and products. Ensures proper identification of AEF taskings, unit assessments of readiness capabilities (e.g. SORTS), limiting factors, common expeditionary skills training, storage and inspection of unit readiness programs. As the squadron senior technical advisor on logistics readiness and AEF issues, performs/leads studies, and provides technical advice and assistance on development and implementation of readiness mission capabilities. Represents the wing regarding logistics readiness issues at meetings within the organization and at conferences. Plans, organizes, and maintains oversight of the activities of the Logistics Readiness Squadron, ensuring the planning efforts and work products and services of all the squadron functions comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and contingency planning objectives. Performs other duties as assigned.
