You will serve as Supervisory Program Manager within the Office of Hazardous Materials Safety (OHMS), Program Development Division. The Division performs data and risk analysis, economic analysis, and program evaluations in support of the Department of Transportation's hazardous materials transportation safety programs. It is the Departmental focal point for information and analysis on hazardous materials transportation safety.
IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT: This position is ideal for a highly motivated, experienced project manager who is seeking a challenging, dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will lead organizational change through projects and teams using analytical, regulatory, and project management skills and you will need to understand concepts and tools related to risk management, regulatory impact analysis, data analysis, and information technology. Experience with business process reengineering and project management best practices is ideal. You are an excellent communicator with the ability to negotiate, build consensus and problem solve. Leadership and creativity in day-to-day management and supervision for staff and project teams is a must. The ideal candidate will have at a minimum a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration of study focusing on management, public policy, economics, transportation, information technology, statistics or operations research.
