The primary purpose of this position is to provide a student trainee who has been appointed to the Pathways Program with on-the-job training and guidance to further student technical development.

This is a Department of the Air Force (AF) Pathways Student Internship Announcement.

The Internship offers valuable work experience directly related to your academic field of study or career goals.  As an Intern, you will be given the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to pursue a successful career with the US Air Force upon completing your degree, certificate or diploma and meeting conversion eligibility requirements.  However, it is important to remember that eligibility for conversion does not guarantee you will be offered a permanent position. 

Internship appointments made under this announcement may be extended or may be non-competitively converted to permanent without further competition.

This internship is to provide a learning opportunity for a student enrolled in a field of study relating to their career path, to enhance their future goals and improve their knowledge with work experience in a working environment.

Program Eligibility Requirements

·         Be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree in a qualifying educational institution on a half-to full-time basis or be accepted for enrollment or enrolled in a certificate program post-secondary education, in a qualifying educational institution, equivalent to at least one academic year of full-time study that is part of an accredited technical, trade, vocational curriculum Qualifying Education Institution.

·         Meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of their appointments.

·         Meet agency-specific requirements as a specified in the agency's Participant Agreement with the Intern.

·         Meet the qualification standards for this Internship position.

Major Duties

·         Performs selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of logistics.

·         Participates with senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects.

·         Provides assistance in planning, monitoring and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives. 

·         Ability to learn and apply basic investigative techniques to accomplish work in the subject-matter field.

·         Ability to gather and analyze basic facts, information, and data, and draw conclusions.
