Location: Gaffney Fitness Center, Fort Meade, MD.
Gaffney Fitness Center provides state of the art cardiovascular equipment, free weights, and strength machines to meet patrons workout needs. Additional facilities include racquetball courts, saunas, an aerobics room, a combatives room, a 25 meter pool, and a spin room. Group fitness classes and personal training are also available.
About this Position: This position is responsible for the instruction of all levels of the learn-to-swim program, with students from age groups of infant through adults. Works with lifeguards to maintain a clean and safe pool environment.
Schedule: Applicants must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

1. Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility.
2. Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills.
3. Instructs all levels of swimming and appropriate strokes, to include; front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke,sidestroke and butterfly.
4. Teach students from age groups of infant through adults. Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction.
5. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times.
